The Most Important Question You Will Ever Face

If you died before the sun came up —
would you know you are going to Heaven?

Not tomorrow. Not when you feel ready. Right now, this very moment, where would you spend eternity?

How Sin and Death Entered the World

To understand why Jesus came, we must first understand what went wrong. The Word of God traces the problem of sin and death to one moment, one man, one choice. And it traces the only solution to one Man as well.

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned."

— Romans 5:12

Adam's disobedience in the Garden did not just affect Adam. It set in motion a reality every human being has inherited: a nature bent toward sin and a sentence of death. This is not opinion. This is the Word of the living God.

"For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous."

— Romans 5:19

The problem came through one man. The answer (the only answer) also came through one Man. Adam brought death into the world. Jesus Christ brings life.

"For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive."

— 1 Corinthians 15:21–22

But God gave... His only begotten Son.

While we were still sinners, not after we cleaned ourselves up, not after we deserved it, God demonstrated His love for us. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, to live the life we could not live and die the death we deserved to die.

"But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

— Romans 5:8

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

— John 3:16

Jesus went to the cross and bore every sin: yours, mine, every soul who has ever drawn breath. He paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could never pay. Three days later, He rose from the dead. Death could not hold Him. And because He lives, all who belong to Him will live also.

He Was Crucified

Jesus died on the cross, bearing the full punishment for sin. It was not an accident. It was the eternal plan of God, laid before the foundation of the world.

🪨

He Was Buried

His death was complete and real. He did not merely appear to die. He died fully, for you and for all who would ever call on His name.

☀️

He Rose Again

On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave, conquering death, sin, and hell forever. He is alive today, and He is calling your name.

What Jesus said to Nicodemus

A Pharisee named Nicodemus came to Jesus by night: a religious man, a ruler, a man who knew the Scriptures. And Jesus told him something that stopped him where he stood.

"Jesus answered, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.'"

— John 3:5

Religion is not enough. Being a good person is not enough. Knowing about Jesus is not enough. You must be born again, born of water and the Spirit. These are not the words of a preacher. These are the words of Jesus Christ Himself.

So what does it look like to be born of water and the Spirit? The book of Acts shows us, not merely in doctrine, but in the power of God breaking into human history before the eyes of thousands.

The Acts of the Church

The Holy Spirit in Action. Acts 2

On the Day of Pentecost, God made the words of Jesus visible: loud, undeniable, and world-changing.

🕊️

The Spirit Descends

Acts 2:1–13

A violent rushing wind filled the entire house. Tongues of fire rested on each of them and they began speaking in languages they had never learned, so that people from every nation could hear the wonderful works of God in their native language.

📖

Peter's Proclamation

Acts 2:14–36

Peter declared what no one could deny: this moment fulfilled the prophecy of Joel 2. He preached Jesus of Nazareth, the same Jesus they had crucified, raised by God and seated at the right hand of the Father as both Lord and Messiah.

🙏

The People's Response

Acts 2:37–41

Cut to the heart, the crowd cried out: "What shall we do?" Peter's answer was immediate, the same answer that echoes across every generation to this day. About three thousand souls were baptized that very day.

The Church Is Born

Acts 2:42–47

What followed was a portrait of Spirit-filled community, devoted to Scripture, to prayer, to fellowship, and to the breaking of bread, sharing everything so that none went without. This is the church Jesus promised to build.

"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Acts 2:38. Peter's answer to the crowd.
Confirmed Through the Word

What Scripture says about salvation and the Holy Ghost

These are not isolated verses. They are the pattern of God throughout the early church, confirmed again and again by the power of the Holy Spirit.

One Name. One Way.

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Acts 4:12 — NKJV
🕊️

The Spirit Was Given

"For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit."

Acts 8:14–17 — NKJV
🔥

Have You Received?

"Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost."

Acts 19:2 — KJV

So how do you receive this gift?

Salvation cannot be earned. No amount of goodness, church attendance, or good intentions will bridge the gap between a holy God and a sinful soul. It is a free gift, purchased by the blood of Jesus, but like every gift, it must be received.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

— Romans 10:9
1

Acknowledge your sin

Agree with God that you are a sinner. Not just that you make mistakes, but that your sin has separated you from a holy God and you cannot save yourself.

2

Believe in Jesus Christ

Believe with your heart, not merely your head, that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead. This is the faith that saves.

3

Confess Him as Lord

Open your mouth and declare it. Jesus is Lord. Not just Savior. Lord. This means surrendering the direction of your life to Him. Not perfectly, but genuinely, from the heart.

4

Repent and be baptized

Repentance is a turning away from sin and toward God. And as Peter declared on Pentecost, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is the outward declaration of that inward transformation, accompanied by the gift of the Holy Spirit.

"For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

— Romans 10:13
