David killed Goliath with a slingshot and a stone and the name of the Lord. He played music that drove demons away from the king. He was anointed. He was chosen. He was called a man after God's own heart.
And he hid in caves.
Scared. Alone. On the run from the very king he had served faithfully. Writing some of his most raw and honest psalms in the dark.
"My soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water." — Psalm 63:1
If you are in a cave right now — afraid, hiding, wondering how you got here after everything God said about you — you are in good company. The cave is not a sign that God has abandoned you. It is often where He does His deepest work.
David did not stay in the cave forever. And neither will you.
